News from the world: Dyslexia

Scientists think they know where dyslexia occurs in the brain.Dyslexia is defined as difficulty in being able to read. However, sometimes it is a catchall term that is used for kids who have underlying language problems. Many children who are dyslexic have a 'decoding' problem; that is, they cannot understand the written words, although their oral language is fine. Others have an underlying language problem that affects their ability to read as well. They should not be considered dyslexic. Here is more general information on dyslexia.
