I spent a long time talking about W today. An old friend called. She and her husband had come to the visitation and the funeral, even though I had not called her. Another friend of hers had read about it in the paper and had by some miracle remembered our name and told my friend about it. Amazing how kind people are. I talked to a reporter so that I could make sure everyone knew that the school had done everything they could for W.

I received a card today from the secretary at the school where W would have gone. Even though she did not know W (this is a school of several thousand kids), she took the time to write and say how sorry she was that she would not get to meet him. I broke down and cried. That's the first time I've cried in over two weeks. I'm glad some things can still make me cry.

I finished all but 3 of my remaining thank you notes. They have been so difficult to write, but so necessary. I am ashamed that they are so late, but at least I am getting them done.

I am amazed that you would think they were late.. If I had been able to help.. I would not have expected anything out of you at all. By the way.. I meant to tell you how beautiful that pic of you and the boys was. You all looked so happy. He must have felt blessed to know his mom loved him as much as you did.

Thanks! It's one of my favorite pictures.
