You gotta help me make a stand.
You just got to see me through another day.
My body's achin', and my time is at hand.
I won't make it any other way.
I've seen fire, and I've seen rain.
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end.
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend,
But I always thought that I'd see you again.
We went to see the Christmas greenery on the grave this weekend. There was a rectangle of pine branches on which a large red bow had been placed in the center. In each corner was a poinsettia. A bouquet of poinsettias was in the vase. They had dug out the dice that were in the vase and thrown them on the ground in order to make room for the poinsettias. I picked up the dice to save them for another day.
The sky has been dreary the last two days, and I have been in tears. But I keep getting up and doing things because that is what you do. Whether you remember why you are doing them or not.
