Partying while sick

I have once again gotten sick this week, but I had two parties to go to, so I refused to give in.

Friday night was our fun Sunday School party--these guys are the best. B wore a purple Pawley's Island polo shirt. It was not very Christmasy, but because of it we found out that another couple from our class takes regular trips to North Litchfield Beach, SC and rents through my uncle's real estate office. Small world! We gave out white elephant gifts. Some couple thought it was clever to pile a lot of Happy Meal toys in a box. BWHaHaHa! Little did they know that I love Happy meal toys! I gave a box of random electronic parts I found in our house, packed lovingly in foam. B gave a shrink-wrapped copy of a program designed to make Windows 3.1 run faster. Now those are truly worthless gifts.

Saturday I talked to my mom on the phone; she said they were a little weepy when deciding not to hang W's stocking this year. So I cried. Then I walked around Fryes with B and went to dinner with gurdonark and wife, which is probably why he is feeling sick now. Call me Typhoid Annie.

Today we had Survivor:Christmas during our Sunday School Class. I knew there was a reason God gave me a gift for trivia and made me a smart-aleck. We even had different color bandanas to wear--it was so cute! Our team won, even after I was voted off by the other teams for being too smart. At church my voice moved down from Alto to Baritone, but I did not stop.

We went to our company's holiday brunch and Christmas decoration exchange. I got this really cute ceramic snowman with a snow globe in his middle. I came home and collapsed. I hope I make it through tomorrow with my voice intact.

:shakes head: You and daisydumont are tied in my book for Hero of the Week.

My mom wouldn't even have a tree the year after Greg died. I refused to fly home - the first time ever.
Mom wouldn't even buy presents for the kids, or have stockings.

:hug o'understanding:

Plus, you're fun.

Well, I don't have a tree and I am not sending Christmas cards. But I have a 12 year old, so I have to have presents. I think I have finally gotten over feeling guilty about having fun. http://www.livejournal.com/users/lonestarslp/2004/06/18/ is where I describe what happened to him if you care to read it.

I'm sick too. I can't taste a damn thing and it's Christmas. Bah!
