Wild weekend

It started with getting up early on Saturday to catch the train to downtown Dallas. A and I went to the Regional chess tournament, which was held at a downtown school. I know I have mentioned before that these things are LONG. We got back about 6:30 PM, tired, but proudly carrying a trophy for seventh place, which for regional middle school, is pretty good.

I was now almost ready to go to my pajama party. I had to print out my Sunday School lesson for the next day. (I actually worked ahead on it). I wimped out on wearing PJs, but I did put on my Uggs slippers. My friend Denise had a great party. I actually didn't know anyone else there, but we had so much fun playing games and wisecracking. I remembered not to drink too much, so I wouldn't be teaching Sunday School with a hangover.

Next morning, B told me that his mother will be getting hospice care, which is basically end-of-life care for terminally ill patients. It has been such an extremely hard year for him and his family--it is so unfair! I was crying a little during church. I managed to pull myself together in order to teach a class on "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens." That is a very good book, by the way.

So now I am hoping to lay down for a little while and watch Funny Girl before the Sunday Night Activities commence. I've got more to tell but it will have to wait.

Yay for Ugg slippers! Did you go with the fluff scuffs? :)

I'm sorry to hear about your mother in law...I will keep all of you in my good thoughts. *hugs*
