stinky cheese, fractured fairy tales and ambient music

One of my favorite books is The Stinky Cheese Man by Jon Scieszka. It's a fun retelling and scrambling of well known folk tales. I was amazed that after listing it as one of my interests, I actually found 2 other people on LJ who listed it as one of their interests, too!

I also found the childrens_books and the same book was mentioned in a discussion there. I feel very much at home.

I love fairy tales that have been changed around, and children's books in general. I'll try to share a favorite once a week or so. I also like kid's music. I just got a CD from They Might Be Giants called "No." If you like TMBG, kids, music or even ambient music, you should check it out. It has cows mooing and ping pong balls hitting a paddle as background music for a song called "Bed Bed Bed Bed." And haven't you always wondered Where Do They Make Balloons? TMBG site is here

I am listening to the soundtrack from Shrek right now. Very kool. Rufus Wainwright's Hallelujah is incredible.

First day with the new journal. I think it's going well.
